Introduction


This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the Member Signup Portal, a powerful self-service tool that allows new members to find your gym, select a membership, and complete their entire signup process online. Understanding this process will help you assist new members and ensure your club's offerings are configured correctly for online sales.


The portal is designed to be seamlessly integrated into your main website, providing a smooth journey for prospective members from interest to purchase.


The Member's Journey: A Step-by-Step Walkthrough


The signup process is broken down into a few simple steps for the member.


Step 1: Finding a Location


When a member first lands on the portal, they are presented with a list of all gym locations that have been enabled for online signups.




  • Search: Members can use the search bar to find a specific location by City, State, or Zip Code.
  • Geolocation: The portal can also use the member's browser location to suggest the nearest gyms.
  • Action: The member selects their desired gym by clicking the "Sign Up" button next to it.


Step 2: Selecting a Membership Plan


After selecting a location, the member is shown all the membership plans that you have specifically made available for online purchase at that location.


Important: This page will only display plans that have the "Consumer Facing" option enabled in your UFP staff settings (more on this in the configuration section below).




  • The portal displays each plan's name, price, and key details (e.g., "No Contract, Paid in full").
  • It supports all subscription types:
  • Paid in Full: One-time upfront payment.
  • Contract: Recurring monthly payments.
  • Pay as you go / Drop-in: Session-based passes.
  • Action: The member chooses a plan by clicking "Select Plan".


Step 3: Entering Personal Information


The member is then asked to fill out a form with their personal details.




  • Configurable Fields: The fields on this form (e.g., Full Name, Email, Gender, Phone Number, "How did you find out about us?") are based on the fields you have configured as mandatory for member creation in your UFP settings.
  • Marketing Consent: A checkbox allows members to opt-in to receive club-related marketing messages.
  • Action: The member fills in their information and clicks "Continue".


Step 4: Reviewing the Summary & Details


This screen provides a complete breakdown of the purchase for the member to review before payment.




  • Start Date: The membership start date defaults to the current day but can be changed by the member to a future date.
  • Total Amount: Clearly shows the total amount due today. For recurring memberships, this section will automatically calculate any pro-rata charges.
  • Subscription Details: Breaks down the cost, including the base membership, any one-time add-ons, and taxes.
  • Product Details: Confirms the membership name, activation date, and expiry date.
  • Referrals & Coupons: Members can enter the name of the person who referred them or apply a valid coupon code here to receive a discount.
  • Action: The member reviews the details and clicks "Proceed".


Step 5: Signing the Waiver & Agreement


Before payment, the member must agree to the Membership Terms & Conditions.




  • The full text of your waiver and membership agreement is displayed.
  • The member must provide an electronic signature by clicking "Sign here..." and drawing their signature in the pop-up box.
  • They must also check the box to confirm they have read and understood the terms.
  • Action: The member signs, checks the box, and clicks "I agree, proceed to next step".


Step 6: Making the Payment


The final step is the secure payment process.




  • The member is presented with the available payment options. These options (e.g., Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI) are dependent on the payment gateway integrated with your specific location/region.
  • The system securely redirects to the payment gateway (like Stripe, Razorpay, etc.) to process the transaction.
  • Once the payment is successful, the member is shown a confirmation page, and their profile is automatically created in the UFP system as a new member.
