Creating and Applying Discount Coupons

This document outlines the process of creating and applying discount coupons within the admin section. Follow these steps to successfully generate a coupon and apply it to a purchase transaction.

Step 1

Begin by navigating to the admin section, then locate the coupon section.

Step 2

Within the coupon section, choose to either create a new coupon or open an existing one. In this instance, a new coupon will be created.

Step 3

Enter the details for the discount coupon. Name the coupon, such as "PRE-SALE-FIRST-100," and specify both the start and end dates for its validity.

Step 4

Ensure that the coupon is valid only within the specified dates. Select whether this coupon is applicable at other locations, and determine the type of discount—either a fixed amount or a percentage.

Step 5

Choose the coupon generation method. Options include a single-use coupon, which generates one coupon, or a vanity coupon.

Step 6

For vanity coupons, manually enter the coupon code and specify its usage limit, such as 100 times. Include additional details about the discount or its value.

Step 7

Specify whether the discount is recurring, such as for recurring memberships, and define the discount type, like a percentage.

Step 8

Optionally, specify the number of months the discount applies, such as offering the first month free or a 50% waiver on the sign-up fee. Within the restrictions section, define which plans the coupon applies to, and choose the relevant membership or plan.

Step 9

For example, if the coupon is restricted to a gold membership with a 12-month contract, it will only apply to that specific plan. Alternatively, extend the restriction to an entire category, making the discount applicable to the service's membership type regardless of the specific plan.

Step 10

Decide if the coupon is for first-time users only, and set additional restrictions if necessary.

Step 11

Define applicable clients by name, restrict to new clients, or limit to clients associated with a specific organization, providing the company's name if configured.

Step 12

If the profile includes the company or organization name, the coupon will apply. Configure whether the coupon is staff-side only, preventing display on member-facing interfaces if necessary.

Step 13

If you intend for member-facing interfaces, such as mobile apps or online portals, to apply the coupon, enable the relevant settings. You can also limit the coupon to app-only usage and configure multilingual names if needed.

Step 14

After creating the coupon, proceed to the point of sale. Search for a member or prospect purchasing a contract by name.

Step 15

Select the relevant membership, such as the gold membership, specify a start date, and add it to the cart.

Step 16

Continue to the checkout section, where you can apply discount coupons.

Step 17

Enter the coupon code. While the coupon we created here won't apply, if you have created one, it will apply and display the discount on the screen.
